Write Letters:
To your elected officials:
It’s September, Congress is back in session, and the best time to let your members of Congress know that you care is NOW!
Help us gather support for America’s Red Rock Wilderness Act (ARRWA)! You can help by writing thank you letters to cosponsoring Oregon Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden, and cosponsoring Representatives Suzanne Bonamici (District 1), Earl Blumenauer (District 3), and Peter DeFazio District 4.
Another way to help is by writing to Oregon Representative asking for cosponsorship of ARRWA to Oregon Representatives Cliff Bentz (District 2) and Kurt Shrader (District 5).
Find your members of Congress here and visit the contact page on their respective websites.
Find more info on ARRWA‘s current cosponsorship here.
On August 12th, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) deferred all 87,000 acres of controversial gas and oil drilling lease parcels that it had intended to sell in September of 2020. These areas would have been incredibly close to three National Parks -Arches, Canyonlands, and Capital Reef. Please send thank you letters to Senators Merkley and Wyden for signing Senator Durbin’s August 6th letter to Interior Secretary Bernhart requesting removal of these areas from the intended BLM auction.
